The Journey
Hi, my name is Gabii, and I am the maker behind Stardust & Stone Candle Co. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Trenton, Missouri: a small town where community runs deep, and creativity often starts at the kitchen table. As the oldest of seven siblings, I’ve always been a caretaker and a doer. I graduated from Trenton Senior High in 2015, and in July 2016, my partner and I welcomed our first baby boy. Just over a year later, in October 2017, we were blessed with our second son, born nearly a month early. At 19 years old, I was a mom of two under 2.
While raising two toddlers, I continued my education and earned my Associate of Applied Science from North Central Missouri College in 2019. But even after achieving that milestone, something was missing. I wanted to create. I wanted to make something that felt more like me.
In September of 2020, I made my very first candle. It wasn’t perfect, but I was hooked. There was something so meditative and satisfying about the process: mixing fragrance, melting wax, pouring with care. I kept practicing, improving, and experimenting. Wax melts came next, then more candles, and by the end of 2020 I launched my first business: Blue Moon Scent & Home. I sold online and at local craft fairs, and little by little, my candles started gaining a loyal following in our community.
In 2022, we sold our first family home and began the process of renovating a new one. Obviously, there was no way I could work on our house, be a present mom to our two boys, AND manage a business on top of it all... so candles had to take a backseat for a while. Then, in early 2023, life shifted again as we welcomed our third baby boy. That year became one of healing, adjusting, and reflecting on what truly lights me up.
Now, I’m back and more inspired than ever. With a fresh name and a clear vision, Stardust & Stone Candle Co. was born. Each candle is hand-poured by me into unique concrete vessels I craft myself. My designs are rooted in simplicity, elegance, and earth-meets-sky energy. Think earthy tones, raw texture, and soft light. Handcrafted candles that bring a little magic to your everyday moments. ✨
